Once upon a time, Eric and Wood Henderson were inseparable. Adopted brothers. Best friends. Brilliant minds. Quantum and Woody

Years later, they are estranged siblings, petty rivals, and washed-up failures. But when their father’s murder leads them into the throes of a life-altering scientific accident, Eric and Woody will find themselves with a whole new purpose — and a perfectly legitimate reason to wear costumes and fight crime. Go big or go home, folks! Quantum and Woody are coming! (And, yes, there is a goat too.)

Quantum and Woody rating

(Ratings are based on the original rating form for school children that can be found here)

 Story

As a comic that doesn’t take itself so seriously, it’s hilarious. Quantum and Woody, as the sub-title suggests, are indeed the worst superheroes, getting into constant mischief and generally failing to save people. This is a story about two brothers going through a period of grief and trying to find out who they are after gaining superpowers they know nothing about. The back-story was dealt with well and I found myself wanting to read more about their escapades.

Artwork

The artwork really impressed me with it’s bright colours and clean lines, lending itself perfectly to the story and the feel of the comic. Quantum-Wood-Ridiculous

Characters

The characters went through significant development and were fun. The brothers are complete opposites and they bounce off of one another very well – Woody, the brash, bolshi charmer and Quantum as the down-to-earth guy with morals. I would like to see how their characters change in later novels.

Dialogue

The dialogue often wasn’t clean but it was funny. I can imagine reading Quantum and Woody is something akin to reading Marvel’s Deadpool.

 What the kids say

Obviously, they loved it.

Hilarious, Quantum and Woody is charming as it is funny.

Author borrowed this from a library.
